Barilla was very apologetic about the incident and quickly sent me two coupons for a free box of pasta. Unfortunately Giant Eagle will not redeem free coupons, so the matter has not been resolved as far as the store where I bought the pasta.

I had the same problem as Tyr. I opened a box of Barilla Tri-color rotini tonight and put it in two dishes.

Within minutes little black bugs were all over my counter top and in the dishes. My husband said they are weevils. I had four other unopened boxes of pasta which we opened and put in plates to check them out. Fortunately, this was the only one that was infested.

I have been buying Barilla for more years than I care to admit, and this is the first time this has happened.

I have all of my flour, etc, in Rubbermaid type containers, so hopefully the weevils did not spread. Just be careful and check your pasta before you cook it.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $3.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

yep unfortunately the big food companies don't check through their food much anymore.what a *** disgrace this is. we might as well be living in North Korea.

you just don't expect this kind of quality in the USA.

but as far as big food producers go all they care about is getting your money and giving you a *** product. so sad but true.
